Purepaw is a UK publication about the health of middle-aged and older dogs. We write the guides we wished existed when our own dogs started slowing down: clear, practical, evidence-led, and free of guilt.
Who this is for
Most of our readers have a dog who is somewhere past the halfway mark. Maybe she is stiff on the stairs in the morning, itching more than she used to, or just not quite as bouncy as last year. You want a straight answer and a sensible next step, not a lecture and not a scare. That is what we try to give you.
How we write
Every article is researched against current UK veterinary guidance and peer-reviewed evidence, and we cite our sources. We explain things in plain English without dumbing them down. When the evidence is mixed, we say so rather than pretending otherwise. We do not moralise, and we will never use a frightening story to make a point.
One boundary matters to us: our articles are general information, not a substitute for advice from your own vet, who knows your dog. Where it counts, we say "speak to your vet", and we mean it.
Who we are
Articles are written by the Purepaw editorial team. As we grow, health articles will carry a named, RCVS-registered veterinary reviewer, and we will tell you who they are.
How Purepaw is funded
Purepaw is published by Tailkind Ltd, makers of premium dog supplements at tailkind.com. We think it is better to say that plainly than to pretend an editorial site appears out of nowhere. Where a Tailkind product is genuinely relevant to an article, we link to it and explain why. Where it is not, we leave it out. Round-ups state their selection criteria openly and review alternatives fairly.
