What data we collect
We collect only the data we need.
- When you read the site: standard server log data including IP address, user agent and pages visited, retained for short periods for security and basic operations.
- Cookies: essential cookies for the site to function (such as session cookies provided by our publishing platform). We do not currently set marketing or advertising cookies.
- If you contact us: the email address and content of any message you send us, retained for so long as needed to respond and for a reasonable period after.
- If a future newsletter is offered: we would collect the email address and a record of consent. Specific newsletter privacy terms would be added here at that point.
We do not currently use third-party analytics or advertising trackers on the site. If that changes, this policy will be updated and consent will be sought where required.
Lawful basis
We process personal data under the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR:
- Legitimate interest for essential server logs and site security.
- Consent for any future marketing communications.
- Performance of a contract if you become a Tailkind customer (handled separately on tailkind.com).
Who we share data with
We use the following third parties to operate the Site:
- Magic Pages (our managed Ghost hosting provider, EU servers in Germany) processes server logs and cookies necessary to run the site.
- Cloudflare (content delivery network) processes request metadata necessary for performance, security and DDoS protection.
- Mailgun (future) if a newsletter is launched, transactional and bulk emails would be sent via Mailgun. Their privacy terms would apply at that point.
We do not sell personal data to third parties.
International transfers
Where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses as required by UK GDPR.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete data we no longer have a basis to hold
- Restrict or object to certain processing

You also have the right to complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.
Retention
